A large part of the safrinha corn in the state will be planted after the ideal planting window has closed which increases the risk of frost before the corn has a chance to mature. Deral is estimating the safrinha corn crop in Parana at 15.3 million tons, which is essentially unchanged from their January estimate.

Mato Grosso do Sul - The Agriculture and Livestock Federation of Mato Grosso do Sul (Famasul) estimated that farmers in the state had planted 19.1% of the safrinha corn compared to 35% last year and 46% average. The planting is 16% behind last year and 27% behind average due to the delayed soybean harvest.
